EWE was an attempt to produce a humorous interactive web-based tool to demonstrate "definitive" (definition-based) principles. The principles have emerged from a long-standing project at the University of Warwick: for more information, see the Empirical Modelling website -- in particular, the section about definitive notations.
EWE itself is an applet written using Java 1.0 (for maximum compatibility with the web browsers that existed at the time). Press the "Click here to start EWE" button that should appear above this text to start the applet. Please see the documentation listed below for more information on how to use EWE, including information on the "EWEScript" definitive notation invented for the purpose. The project was written up in Ashley's MSc project report, which is available by request.
